Waste Management
Recent European legislation has restricted the disposal of gypsum waste to landfill sites. OCL are able to manage the collection of plaster and plasterboard waste on site, and its return to the manufacturers where it is recycled and re-used.
OCL also provide a total waste management service to many of our clients, where we deal with all aspects of waste disposal on site. We employ specialist contractors to remove and dispose of all wastes that we are unable to recycle. All managers are trained to recognise and take responsibility for the identification of waste produced and to ensure segregation and disposal methods are employed to ensure that the site remains within environmental requirements. Information is passed to personnel at the start of each contract, and at regular intervals during the time span of the project.
Recognising our responsibilities to the environment, OCL also takes measures, as far as practicably possible, to ensure that any works carried out on our behalf do not cause a nuisance to the local community. Additionally, the clearing up of waste is carefully monitored throughout the contract period of work.
