Dalston Square

Dalston in Hackney is set to get a massive boost through the regeneration of the town centre.

The ambitious scheme will create more than 500 new homes, a library, shops and restaurants.

The scheme includes 14 apartment blocks built of brick, timber and glass. The first phase is due to be completed by the end of 2009. It is committed to using energy efficient measures such as green roofing and combined heat and power

At the heart of this exciting development will be Dalston Square – the largest public space built in the area for over 100 years. Proposals for it include children’s play areas, a green oasis and areas for entertainers or exhibitions.

OCL Ltd were contracted to carry out the Metsec Frame works on this project.

The project consisted of 5 blocks, A, B, C, D & E and there was approximately 15,400m2 of Metsec framing.

This included: 100mm SFS Framing @ 600mm centres, 10mm cement board or 50mm Kingspan TW55 (to brickwork areas) and brick tie channels.
